Privacy

There are no accounts, no ads, and no trackers. Nothing you do here is tied to your name, because the site never learns it.

What stays in your browser

Six things are saved on your own device and nowhere else:

None of it is sent anywhere unless you choose to share it. Clearing your browsing data for this site deletes all of it.

What is sent, only if you ask

Three things leave your device, and only when you press a button.

A rating you give a show. The show's id, whether you would recommend it, and your random id. That is the whole record.

A MyAnimeList username, if you use that import. Typing a username sends it to this site's server, which asks MyAnimeList for that public list and hands back the shows. The username is used for that one request and is not stored, not logged against your random id, and not kept afterwards. It is not tied to your ratings in any way.

The file import does not do this: an export file is read entirely in your own browser and never leaves your machine. If you would rather nothing at all were sent, use or a file on the home page instead — both routes end in the same place.

Scores from a MyAnimeList import, if you opt in. Your list is read first, whichever way it arrived. If you then choose to share, only the show ids and your scores are sent — never the file, never your username, never your plan-to-watch, and nothing that is not in this site's catalogue. You are shown the exact number before you decide, and you are asked every time rather than having a yes remembered.

You can take them back. Remove my ratings on the home page deletes them. That works for as long as this browser keeps its random id — if you have cleared your browsing data since, the ratings genuinely cannot be traced back to you any more, by me or by anyone else. That is what being properly anonymous costs, and it seemed more honest to say so than to imply otherwise.

What I never have

No name, no email address, no password, no account, no payment details, and no way to work out who you are from a rating.

Other companies your browser talks to

Loading a page here makes your browser fetch things from a few other places, which means those companies can see your IP address — the same as on almost any website:

Clearing everything

The home page has Clear for your watched list and Remove my ratings for anything you have shared. Beyond that, clearing site data for this site in your browser removes every trace on your end.
